The leading media company for Hispanic America, which includes Univision, the No. 1 Spanish language network and a top five network regardless of language, is seeking a Vice President of Entertainment and Consumer Public Relations. The position is based at Univision’s Headquarters in Miami, Florida. The role includes responsibility for developing, directing and managing all publicity campaigns for Univision’s broadcast and cable portfolio, If you have sound judgement, are a good collaborator, and are passionate about Hispanic media, this is the job for you!

This position requires a poised and strategic leader who can integrate seamlessly into the organization, communicate and influence effectively, and can operate in a dynamic and fluid publicity environment, while handling a high volume of activities and deliverables. The leader will be responsible for overseeing a lean team working directly with network executives, show producers and talent relations to ensure consistency of messaging, and serves as a primary point of contact with English and Spanish-language media on publicity matters.


The VP of Entertainment and Consumer Public Relations will develop comprehensive strategic communications plans, integrating media relations and press events, as well as managing their execution. The ideal candidate must be willing and available to work outside of traditional business hours and weekends when necessary, while embracing Univision’s values of integrity, excellence and collaboration. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate entertainment and consumer media interest in Univision’s media portfolio ensuring regular contact with target media, and appropriate and timely response to media requests
  • Own, develop and maintain comprehensive entertainment media contacts
  • Develop strategies, objectives and tactics for programming publicity consistent with overall company goals and brand positioning; execute publicity plans
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on priorities and develop and execute publicity and internal communications strategies
  • Conceive and proactively pitch stories and secure placement in print press, broadcast and digital media about UCI’s media portfolio, executives and programming consistent with desired image and strategy for the respective assets
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, content partners and media representatives and leverage these relationships to develop publicity opportunities
  • Keep senior management and key stakeholders informed of publicity activities, challenges and opportunities
  • Strategize the use of influencers, content creators and bloggers for publicity/editorial efforts

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or English preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in public relations or related field
  • Fluency speaking in English and Spanish
  • Television and Hispanic media industry experience
  • Experience presenting and writing communications / publicity related materials in English and Spanish
  • Experience devising, managing and executing Publicity plans, including English-language entertainment/consumer
  • Experience designing, managing and monitoring the effectiveness of digital communications tactics; including using various social media tools
  • Demonstrated success identifying, creating and pitching senior leaders on PR/Communications


  • Experienced people manager
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Able to flex style to effectively handle the situation, including in high stress situations

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to travel 25% of the time
